HELP! Or my brain will explode**

Hey Fella's & Fellette's, I need some serious help! Let me start off telling you what I gots. 2001 F150 screw, 4WD, 5.4L, 6750 GVW, tow package, stock. I love this little baby. Very few, minor problems, so far. I got a 26ft. fifth wheel trailer I've been towing around the country for aviation jobs when i'm not back in Minnesota working on my mothers house and taking care of her as she is 92 now. Here's the nuts; can't decide on what shocks and air bags (or Timbren) to get or who from. Looking at Edelbrock or KYB from Shockwarehouse or another vendor and I think I may go with Firestone airbags but the only ones they recomend are the 2000lb.ers, which I don't know are strong enough for the turd I tow. I'd like to install the 5000lb.ers but SDTruck said they would not fit. Any advice, preferances or experiences with this type of thing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Bilstiens are probably your best choice for shocks. Not sure about your airbag question but I'm sure some of the others can help.

Well OK Wandell, I guess Bilstein's are the choice of the members as far as I've read thru other threads. I didn't see anything about Edelbrock's, which is curious. The Bilstein website recommends 2490's and 2574's for the 2001 4x4 screw. Perhaps I should write another thread for the airbags. Thanks for your help. Oh yea, would you happen to know if these are stiff shocks?

My truck was too bouncy after I added Firestone air springs when trailering. I ordered Bilstein 5100s to help. I would have gone with the HD shocks and saved $7 each, but I like the nickel/black look better than the yellow. (Nearly the same shock except for the 1" additional length capability in the 5100 as near as I can tell.)
