Cranked Torsion Bars VS. New Torsion Keys?

I have a 2001 F-150 4x4 and right now I have the torsion bars cranked enough to give the truck a level stance. Due to this my ride has become a lot more rough. Would putting in new aftermarket lifting torsion keys improve my ride and give me the leveled stance I'm looking for?

Thanks,
Dillon

I dont think so. when cranking the keys increasing the "torque" (only word that came to mind) on the torsion bars, which in turn raise the front of the truck and stiffens the ride. The after market will yeild the same result as your stock keys.
I'm not much on suspension, but I say if you want lift and ride you need to look into a lift kit.
If I'm mistaken then I'm sure someone will chime in.

The ride with aftermarket keys is just as stiff. I put them on my 02 screw I just bought a couple weeks ago along with add a leafs. The truck stance is nice but I do not like the ride. I had a fabtech on an 01 screw I had a couple years ago and that rode great. I highly recommend a fabtech lift.

Hey Dillon, I don't know too much about this but you might want to take a look to the Maximum travel RS5000 (shock absorbers) from rancho... I haven't use them but rancho is saying that those are specially for cranked bars trucks...

The aftermarket keys do exactly what your stock keys do, crank up the torsion bars, but they do it a little more than you could with stock keys. If anything, you're going to get an even worse ride by going even higher with aftermarket keys. They're a waste of money, don't bother.

I agree. They have to be the biggest rip off in the automotive industry.

Haha yeah keys cost alot more than $19 tho! They r a waste and they cost u more in the long run by wearing out ur ball joints and cv boots more rapidly. aha
