Ran over a curb...

Hello everyone! First post...

I got a new F-150 XLT 4x4 a couple months ago and have about 2700 miles on it so far. A week back I was pulling out of a parking lot that had a super narrow entrance and ended up running the passenger side over the curb (maybe 6" to 7" high). As I was going over the curb, I heard a sound like metal under stress or bent. My first thought when I hit the curb was that I bottomed out, but after thinking about it, it sounded more like a spring creeking. Could this be the suspension or could I have hit something under the truck? I can't imagine bottoming out on a curb of that height? I know very little about what I am looking at when I look under the truck, so I can't tell what is normal and what isn't.

Anywho, now I am OCD about every sound and vibration the truck makes. One thing that I have noticed now is that my steering wheel is rubbing when turning between 11 and 1 o'clock at slow speeds. Almost feels like extra friction between the steering wheel and the column. I never noticed it at first, until just recently? Could this be related?

I should also add, that it *seems* to be driving straight and the air pressure in the passenger side tires seems ok.

Thanks in advance.

i would start crawling around under the truck to look for any spots on metal components that are now very shiny from scraping or have a fresh coating of surface rust on them from where any paint may have been removed. gonna be the only way to determine what and where you hit.

How fast were you driving? I have hit curbs pretty fast, and havn't done any damage. I'm pretty rough on my truck and while they are not bullet proof, they are truley more tough than one would think.
