Unstable ride
Unstable ride
My 99 F150 has new shocks and I just replaced the lower ball joints. Also replaced the outer tie rods when I did the ball joints, as the boots were torn. Was low on funds so didnt do the inners. Bought this truck used with high miles, so the assumption is everything else has been on there for a good long time.
When I hit a significant bump, pothole, sewer cover - whatever - the stability ridiculously sucks. The whole truck skips off to the side and I basically need to regain control. Totally unstable under any kind of rough conditions. What should I be looking at?

Yes, endlinks are there. No idea how old they are, but there is no knocking sound on the front end, which in my experience is common when end links are going bad.
New shocks all around. Rancho. I normally install Billsteins on my trucks but I was pretty low on funds when I bought this and there were so many other things it needed, compromised down to Ranchos.
Some low end crappy nearly bald tires that came on the truck. Definitely need new tires, they are next on the list, before winter hits. Would have to check pressures.

Too high a pressure could cause the skip. If a LR C or D with a max of 50, use 40-45. If a LR D or E with a max of 65, use 45. If a LR E with a max of 80, use 50. If a p series tire with a max of 35 or 44, use 35.
