help with new shocks

ok, so i have a 2004 f150 fx4 with 160k miles and im pretty sure stock shocks. I dont think the previous owner ever changed them, with my level kit on it bumps so stiff i am busting fog light bulbs. anyways, i hear bilsteins are the best but i go mudding quite often and need something that can stand the abuse i put it through and also last a while.

any suggestions?

will the bilsteins handle the off road abuse? i like the idea the rancho have the control, and the fx4s come with stiffer off road shocks from the factory?

I spend more time in sand than mud, but have been through my share of both with Bilsteins, they handle very nice. They are probably the only shock that I will purchase for all my vehicles going forward. Getting ready to put a set on the wife's Jeeper also. I've heard good things about both Rancho and Procomp, just never ran either. I think you would be happy with Bilsteins though.

I'd have no problem with any of the above. I prefer Bilstein, but that's personal preference. They are a highly regarded company in the industry and have been for a long time. But Rancho and the others make good stuff too. I also wonder how many of these things may roll off the same line in some BA plant somewhere.

I just ordered some Bilstein 5100s from TopGunCustomz earlier this week. They were the cheapest by far.
