Monroe Quickstrut

Anyone install Monroe Quickstrut's yet? I am needing to replace my front struts, and this seems like a very reasonable alternative. My local tire shops want about $ 650.00 to change the struts, plus another $ 100.00 for alignment.

I was thinking about installing a leveling kit also. There are sooo many out there. Which ones are the best quality? If I go with the Quickstrut, and a leveling kit, I can do half of the work in my living room!

Thank you for your input!

Regards!

Seems like a lot to pay when all you need is the shocks. Plus I would wonder if you are getting the same quality in the spring itself. For that money, you could buy Bilsteins and even have it installed by the dealer. The Bilsteins OE replacement would be a far better shock than the Monroes, not that the Monroes are bad, just not as good.

Did the OE Bilsteins and a 1.5 Autospring level on my 05... I love the look and the ride.. I did it myself and it wasn't too bad.. I would've done the Bilstein 5100's, but was too impatient to wait on the back order..My truck had 65,0000 on the original shocks, and they were toast!!

Thanks for the replies!

I guess I should have clarified...the Monroe's are about $ 190 each. My local tire shops want the $ 600 + to change just the struts.

Of all of the years I worked in a body shop, I had never changed struts or dealt with coil springs. So, I am a little unsure of what I am doing up there. I may have to hit up a buddy for some help!

Thanks again!

Regards!

You also do not need to change the whole thing. These are coil overs, not really struts. Just need a good spring compressor.
