Bilstein 5100 vs. Rancho QuickLift
Bilstein 5100 vs. Rancho QuickLift
So I've been doing quite a bit of searching on leveling kits and whats good and not good. I think I have decided to get a shock level kit. The shocks have 70k on em so I figured might as well just get new shocks to level it. I know there is the Bilstein 5100s and the Rancho Quicklift shocks but is there any others out there? Which one of these are better?
Saw the ebay listing of the 5100s all around for 400 but I am still leaning towards the Quicklift for the adjustability.
Thanks

I'm in the same boat... not sure which one. I like the adjust-ability of the Rancho. I too would like to know if there are other kits out there. Also the best tire size for stock FX4 wheels. Best price out there at what site for the QL.
I run bilsteins and i know by expierence that they top rancho. The thing about the bilsteins is you dont have to adjust them, they have self adjusting valving so you can go from black top to off roading with ease! Bilsteins do have a slightly stiffer ride but they provide better knuckle and tire control over any strut in the market!
With a leveling kit I have seen 35s.
Only at full steering lock. Other than that, they will be fine. Just get in t he habit of not turning the wheel the whole way.
I am planning on getting some Toyo MTs on some XD 20x9 with 4.5 BS.

you run can 35's with a level its just hit or miss with how much your gonna have to trim but that big of a tire stuffed in there really hides all the trimming anyways. I only run in full steer lock to the left in reverse.
I have an '05 FX4 Screw and just got the Rancho Quick Lifts and love them so far! I also upgraded to Nitto Terra Grapplers (295/70/18, about 34 1/2 inches high) and have zero rubbing. Trust me, new shocks are the way to go if you want to level your "broken in" truck.
The Rancho's are top notch and offer any performance the Bilsteins do. In this particular case, I say it comes down to one of two things...brand loyalty (if there is any) and wether you feel you will use the adjustments of the Rancho shock or not.
Even if you are the type that will most likely find a setting you like on the Rancho's and then never touch it again, there's still something to be said about having the ability to do just that!
