Hi, I have a 2006 4x4 F150. Still has factory shocks with 42,000 miles on now. Can anyone make a recommendation on a shock that would be a step or 2 above the factory shocks? I tow our travel trailer quite a bit in the Summer. Unfortunately, I am not able to kick out too much for them but was wondering within reason if there was a suitable, better replacement shock?
Are there any other shocks anyone would recommend? I need something that definitely does not give me more than an inch lift. KYB, Monroe or others in a slightly lower price tag than the Bilsteins?
What am I going to be paying for the Bilsteins for all 4? Which model# as well?

For towing, off road, and highway I would suggest the Rancho RS9000XL 9 way adjustable shocks. They have a lifetime warranty. They are extra strong but they are not cheap. I'm glad I chose them...

Another vote for the 9000's. Not cheap, even more than the Bilsteins but as was mentioned, you get what you pay for.

I have never had good experience with KYBs. I blew 3 of them on my old Toyota. They seemed to only last me just over a year and just long enough to be out of waranty.
