tire size
tire size
I am purchasing new wheels and tires. KMC Rockstar 18x9 and they recommend 285/60/18 which is the same height as my stock tires and just slightly wider. If I could afford to lift the truck now, I would. I am buying the Nitto Terra Grappler. Can I fit the LT/285/65/18 without have any problems other than spedometer? This is a daily driver truck so I don't want any problem but I would like to install bigger tires.
I posted another thread under the suspension catagory about this same issue since I want to lift the truck for bigger tires but can't afford it now.

Nitto 33, and LT????
Yeah, according to Nitto, it is 32.52" tall. So I guess it is considered a 33". I really can't see how there could be problem (the Nitto is only 1" taller than the recommended/stock tire), but I am making sure. These salesman keep recommending the 285/60/18 which is the same height as stock. I want the 33 if I won't have any problem and that means using the LT285/65/18 which also costs about $40 more so I am surprised if it will work good, why these salesman won't recommend it.
Currently I have stock sized P tires (265/70/17) and if I upgrade to the Nitto 33, it is only made in an LT. Will that be an issue and will it really ride rougher? I wouldn't mind the extra strength with the LT since a couple of times a year I do haul about 2,000 lbs in debris, not usually far. I have loaded it up to 3,000 lbs one time, but it is rare to be over a ton. I have always had P tires and never had a problem.

40 PSI enough
Since LT tire need more PSI than P tires, will 40 PSI be enough for daily driving? Is 40 PSI on a LT so low that will affect gas milage? I am just curious about the milage, not a big difference either way.
I have a 06 E-350 box utility truck for my contracting business and I know it has LT tires. I think we run them at 60 PSI, but I am not sure. I know this truck needs LT tires since it is a class 3 truck.
