If you have over 30-40k on your shocks, you might want to think about replacing them while you have the front apart. It is due. Same for the rear. You will be amazed at the difference.

30 to 40 thousand miles?
im at 90k on original shocks and i beat the heck outa mine offroading, loading the bed down with mulch, and towing a boat. im gonna go ahead and say that i should probably start looking around for a new set.

Yes you should. Unfortunately it is not that easy to tell when the shocks are bad unless you really carry loads. The springs are heavy enough that it is not that easy to determine. However, once you change them you will wonder why you did do it sooner as there will be a big difference.
