How long should my shocks last?

I have 55k miles on my 2006 F150 KR 4x4. Just curious how long the shocks should last. I do some towing with it (4500 lb boat & trailer). It's about time to buy new tires, and I thought I might do the Bilstein shocks at the same time.

They are probably pretty well gone by now. If you change them, depending on what you buy, you will notice quite a difference.

Thanks guys. Since my Nittos are pretty well warn, it's hard to tell if the rougher ride is the shocks or the tires...or both. I think I'm going to take off my AS leveling kit and put on the Bilstein 5100s with my new set of Nittos.

50k is a pretty good life for shocks, some people hang onto them for 100k+, but if you're towing, you want to be as stable as possible and driving around with bad shocks won't be a great idea.

You can see all the parts we have, including the Bilsteins for your truck here:

The 5100s are a great choice because they can level your truck with 0.5-2 inches of lift and are valved stiffer than the heavy duty shocks, so they'll give you MUCH better handling and control.

Do it, you won't regret it.
It was a nice and welcome improvement installing 5100s with 30k miles on the factory shocks.

Your website says the "F150" promo code is expired.
