I took my 05 screw in for an alignment. It was drifting right. I gave the guy the original wheels an tires so he could use his tools to do the adjustment.

He put back on my new Toyo MT's and wheels when the alignment was finished.

My truck still drifts to the right. He said it was because of the bigger tires???

I noticed I have to hold the steering wheel right of center a bit to keep the truck straight. Did this guy rip me off? The truck feels exactly the way it did when I brought it in.

He may not have ripped you off. He could have everything to spec and it will still drift. Tires can cause a drift. Rotate the tires to see if that changes the problem. I have had tires that cause this and by rotating to the other side either reversed it or eliminated it. Also make sure that it is not the crown in the road causing the problem. If you have a highway to try it on rather than a local road, it would be better.

 

I'll try and rotate the tires and see if that helps.

Did he use a computer for the alignment? Did you get a print out of before and after?

 

I got the print out after. No before. He said if I want I could bring it back and he could adjust it for my tires and not stock but wouldn't guarantee the tires would wear.

If swapping the tires dont work. I think I'm going to have him adjust it and stay there while he works on it.

I called several places around here and they said their equipment can't work with the 33x12.5x18's Everyone wanted the original wheels and tires so they could set it to stock.

 

It does not matter which tire is on as it will not affect the aspect of the suspension, unlike things like ball joints, tie rods, lifts, etc.

 

My alignment specs are perfect, but the truck still wants to go right a little bit. Thats been like that for about 2,000 miles and the tires havent worn down any from it and thats with a 38" tire.

 

I wonder if that is something with the Toyo MT's. I went back to the guy tonight and he said that he actually tried changing the tires around.

His dads truck was there as well. Big F250 with 20in Toyo MT's.. That pulls to the right too.

He is going to adjust my camber on the left side a bit and let me drive it and then adjust again if need be until I like it. He said it should tighten it up a little.

No problem man, just keep a eye on the tires make sure they aint wearing unevenly, I learned my lesson with my last set of tires.

 

You might be driving on a road with a crown so the truck will drift right. Go out on a county road where nobody else is, and drive right down the center of the road. If it drive straight, you're good. I got mine aligned with my aftermarket rims and 35s and it goes dead straight down the middle of the road. On roads with a crown it pulls SLIGHTLY right.
