Question about a REAR lift kit.
Question about a REAR lift kit.
I have a 2005 FX4 with a 2" LVL Kit on the front. I recently bought a 5th wheel Camper 28'.
Im trying to find a inexpensive way to lift the rear some to help support the 5th wheel and sagging in the rear with out effecting the ride when not pulling the camper.
Has anyone install one of these kits?

I looking for any other suggestions or comments on this kit. They also sell a 1.5" kit but only say for 2WD trucks? I would think it would still fit? I would prefer to get the 1.5" kit really because lifting the rear 3" would seem like to much on the rear?
UPDATE:
You know what after reading more it looks they they replace your factory 1-5/8 so would think it would raise it 1-3/8 more since they are 3". Someone correct me if Im wrong here? Im just wondering if by doing this it would make that much of a differance pulling the 5th wheel camper?
Thanks!

The 3" blocks will replace your OEM block and will add a little more rake to the rear. But if pulling a 5th wheel, you may want more load capacity, right? Look into adding an add-a-leaf which will also provide more lift/rake but the added leaf will add additional load capacity. The other "cheap" alternative is a bolt-on helper spring. I only tow a 20' boat/tandem trailer a few times a year and see the benefits of going this route as it is adjustable and ultimately easily removed. But if money is no object, you can go with air bags: Considering the weight of your 5th wheel, this may be the best way to go for you.
Do not buy the autospring blocks.
I bought 3" rear blocks and they are welded (several members have had them crack under normal use), and the do not have tabs for the factory bump stops.
Instead I would recommend readylift 3" blocks. They are cast and have bumpstop tabs. This will bring you closer to a stock stance with a little bit of rake.
Aside from that, a 28' fifth wheel is probably pretty heavy, I would add airbags on the rear axle. They won't affect the ride much when the truck is empty and can be inflated based on load to keep the truck level.
Also if you haven't pulled the trailer much yet, I'm guessing you are going to want to re-gear with the tires that you are running.
