moog is what everyone here will tell you to get. they are good quality, but expensive. about $50 each for a lower joint. i didn't have that kind of money (replacing all 4) so i went with the parts store house brand. they're also grease-able and have a lifetime warranty

Moog is a good brand.
Go to rockauto.com for prices from them. Go to retailmenot.com and search for discount codes.

MOOGs are great, got them upper and lower, best part is that they are lifetime warrenty so all youll have to pay for if they go again is labor. Unless you got some time and some mad hammering skills.

Or borrow a ball joint installer/remover and pitman arm puller from the part store.

Another vote for Moog from RockAuto. I've bought everything for my front end from them and it's always worked out great.

Ford Service Manual says 1.3 hours a piece for labor for the lowers.

How often should ball joints be replaced? Should I replace them before they go bad, or just wait till they're shot?
