Anybody know what lift this is???
I went out and looked at this truck with my brother who wants to buy it. It's an 04 5.4 AT with only 13k on it and over 20k invested. Asking price was 22 something but can probably get it below 20.
Dealer sais its a powerplay lift? The lift to me looks like a full throttle or whiplash lift...well to start with, then they went custom with big air bags and all sorts of linkages. The truck has 14"s of air bag travel... you can drop it down low and raise it all the way up. 2 tanks, 4 compressors.....38" tires. The dealership has no clue about the truck. After a test drive... there are some doubts about buying it. It's leaking tranny fluid from the rear tranny output. It has bad ball joints throughout the front ( lots of popping and wheel flex during turns) alignment is off and there are other driving issues. The salesman had the guts to tell us that upon removing the truck from a display ramp, the axle twisted out from under it, causing the traction bars to tear at the welds and the driveline to fall out, also breaking the yolk. But they "fixed it"
The question is.. the lift itself looks tough, but once they got rid of the springs and went to bags.. it went to shat. Can the bags be removed and deleted? I'm sure they can if he can find the adequate springs for the lift. Problem is the bag mounts were welded to the rear axle and up front were welded to the lower a arm.. I duno.. It's a lot of truck.. obviously a lot of maintenance with something of its nature. Would be a handful for sure and a pocket getter.
heres the truck.

Oh and the truck used to be supercharged but was removed by previous owner.. Motor seems a little slugish, my old 2v 5.4 pulled 37's 10 times better than this truck does.

I have no idea... .It looks like two of some kit welded together one on top of the other.
Or custom made... But I have seen a truck like this differant color truck on ebay with that set up...
IMO... It's to much... The truck sits high but with that big ugly brace up front not really gaining much more hight for clearance.

It definitely wouldn't be going off road. Especially if the dealership wrapped the axle just taking it off the display ramp. Just curious as to what lift it was, or how that particular lift was setup before the bags were put on. They make it nasty to drive... cool as hell makin all that pshhhhhhhh noise and the truck going up and down but not very drivable. I'll dig around some more. Thanks
its a whiplash kit aside from the airbags. they made a piece of junk out of a lot of money with that truck. even if you switched it back to a normal suspension lift those kits are junk and will fall apart on the road.
oh and here is power play's site. apparently they are just some company that fixes up trucks for people and they only have one truck pictured on there site. lol it's that one before the airbags.

Check out whiplash website and that truck is on the homepage or in there gallery in think. But looks like they changed the wheels/tires. I absolutely hate that front crossmember. The rest of the lift and color combo looks good. But if the 4 link in the rear broke then it prob needs to be re done

the truck is nice but that lift is junk, its mainly a showcase lift, no offroad capability, not a very well designed front crossmember im sure the truck was made for show only due to the paint and chrome rear shocks and airbags but the truck if you did return it to stock and ran it through the auction it would bring about 25,000, the aution report says its above average with the mileage and 27,000 with 24000 miles, id say buy it and flip it at the auction if you have the capability to
oops my bad i ran that as an 07 idk i thought i read 07 but actually an 04 would bring nothing compared to that sorry, heres what the auction reported last week.....above average-$16456 48715 miles ..average $12801 97412 miles so my bad again
Gotcha, so it might be in the neighborhood of 18-20k at 13k miles.. The more and more we look at it, the less he wants it.
