u think i need new coilovers?

ok i dont know anything about this truck. its something im lookin at buying. its an 05 ford f150 4x4 with a 6" fabtech suspension lift. i test drove the truck today and it rides like absolutely crap. my best friend has a titan with a procomp stage 1 lift, hes running the six inch spacer and factory coilover. his truck rides amazing. the f150 im looking at is really really really really stiff. i included a picture, im not sure if its just a really old coilover that needs to be replaced, or if every bushing on the front end is worn to crap. can u tell me what u think? would new coilovers be alot smoother than this one? r do the coilovers just ride this stiff? my first lifted truck, sorry!!

I have the same lift and shocks and it rides very smooth. Judging by those CV angles, there is definitly a leveling kit on top of those shocks which will definitly stiffen the ride and limit the suspension travel.

This is what my CV angles look like with the 6" Fabtech:

See the difference?

Also, those tires are bald you'll need new ones soon.

There is definitely an additional spacer on top of the shocks which will cause it to ride like crap. The tires are over-inflated which is painfully obvious by the wear pattern. And the ball joints and tie-rod ends could very well be worn out.

thankx for the input guys, as i really appreciate it. a few more questions, how much air should i hold in the tires, they are 35 inch toyos

where would the spacer be located as i have no clue

so is this a six inch lift with an additional two in spacer? should i just pull the spacer out and put the coilover back and see if that makes a difference? will the height of the truck come down any? will i still be able to clear 35s? or is this a 2 in spacer with a 4 in lift totaling a six inch lift? any help or insight will help, thankx

its a 6" lift with a spacer, the spacer will be on top of the coil. yes you will lose whatever lift was gained with the spacer but you will still be able to clear the tires.

so if thats 8 inches, would i be able to clear 37s? also..if i take the spacer out, would it be that big of deal to notice the ride quality?

since we have no idea what size the spacer is we wont know how much lift you have but yeah some guys run 37's with the lift and spacer. some people say spacers make a big difference in ride and some will say they make no difference at all. if it was my decision i would take the spacer out and stick with the 35's.
