Fabtech

I'm looking to get a Fabtech 6inch lift on my 2007 F-150 and was wondering what else I should be looking for?

Also what tires/wheel setup would be best for this lift/provide for a semi-comfortable ride?

thanks ahead of time for your help!

I would go with a 35in tire and a black rim

something like the Black Moto Metal in a 17

Unless you do a lot of offroading, I'd suggest a quality 35 inch all terrian tire on an 18 or 20 inch wheel. If you have the 4.6 engine or do a lot of heavy towing/hauling you will probably want to regear.

Can't go wrong with the Fabtech. I work the hell outa mine and its still holding up very well. Stock parts are breaking, but the lift kit components are doing awesome.

Thanks for the responses..

I think I'm going to go with some Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ Radial LT315/70R17 Tires and the Classic II Wheels.

What would be the disadvantages of not regearing and would you also recommend a power programmer?

Great tires! I am running the Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ mud tire! The disadvantage would be, the power loss you will fell with a bigger tire (35") Especially on the highway. If you don't tow/haul much you will be able to live with it. I am running with stock gears right now, but when I get my 37" i will definetley be re-gearing. Another thing you should be looking for is a TON OF FUN!!!!

Without re-gearing, the truck is going to be a bit slow, it's going to have to downshift more and use more fuel. If you have 3.73 gears it is tolerable with 35s, but keep in mind that is "tolerable". I plan to run 4.56 gears in mine. The 3.73s are 'okay' for now since it is flat here and I'm not towing anything right now.
I plan to move back to the west coast when I find another job that allows me to, and I wouldn't be happy driving in the mountains with 3.73s on a regular basis.

I would recommended a power programmer yes that way your engine will wake up and it wont hurt as bad with 35.

Also what gears would my truck have?
I have an 05 XLT 4x4 with the 5.4 engine.

im running 35's on a leveling kit with stock gears, an edge programmer, and a cold air intake, and i blow all the trucks in my town off the road. you dont need to regear only getting 35's, that would be a complete waste of your time and A LOT of your money.

lol not to rain on your parade but the f150 is the slowest 1/2 ton truck and an edge and cai still probably won't make it any faster than the other trucks.

on another note MY 1000TH POST
