i had a hard time too. i used a tie rod removal tool. looks like a 2 prong fork. almost impossible to not rip the the tie rod boot. otherwise my buddy said to use 2 large pry bars. one to relieve pressure on suspension and another to split the tie rod apart. maybe try using a jack to lift the a arm to a better angle.
good luck.

take a hammer and hit it over and over, not hard though, the constant vibration will knock it loose. I have had to take all the front suspension off 3 times this month alone.

yeah the pickle fork works for the ball joints but i just whack the side of the spindle by the ball joint a few times and the taper usually breaks free

Yeah just use a rubber hammer and go to town they should come off. Just took mine off with the same process, a few good bangs and they should come loose.

I typically use a large dead-blow hammer. Seriously.

Go to Advanced Auto or Auto Zone and rent a pitman arm puller, it makes the job so much easier. You actually have to buy the tool but you get your money back if you return it within 30 days.

Yes. If the dust boots are torn the joints will dry out and get contaminated with dirt and fail. Either do it now or do it later. At least it is already apart for you now. Sorry dude.
