ReadyLift??

I need more advice.Do I wait for the 09 Bilstein 5100's or go with a ReadyLift system to level my truck.I hate to replace perfectly good shocks.A custom shop in my area has been using the ReadyLift system and charges $600 to install and align.Any thought?

i would just get the leveling kit. dont waste the new shocks. 600 is crazy imo for everything. you can get the leveling kit for 70 shipped from hbs and install it yourself in about an hour and a half to two hours with a friend. its very easy to install. but thats just me. also, i think that with the more expensive leveling kits you are just paying for the name.

Yes...I will have to check around for a better price.I would like to do it myself, but I'm afraid the 2 hrs would turn into 2 days.

bilsteins are nice and have a nice ride but levels are not that bad.

readylift already cost alot cause its a brand name. nothing better. alignment average in my area is $70. hell bent steel levels are $69 shipped. your already saving some dough.

2 hours might turn into 3 hours but not 2 days!. jk. even if its 3 hours it's def worth saving $460!! its not too hard to install. ex. the instructions it comes with are 1 page long. plus you got members here to help.

Look for some install videos on youtube in addition to the info you find here.

It is very easy.

You will need an impact and common metric sockets (deep), of course jackstands and a good floor or bottle jack.

You also need 1 1/16 and a 30mm deep for the bolt on the lower control arm holding the bottom of the strut.

I cheated and used 1 1/16 with some pliars holding the 30mm from spinning. Quick shot of penetrating oil and things were fine.

Its 6 nuts/bolts each side. I did not have to remove the steering linkage.

My local shop installed my HBS kit and did the whole alignment for 75 bucks, so 70 to get the HBS kit and 75 to install and align, I wish I would have done the install myself because I heard it isnt that hard...but 600 is outrageous...

Because people will pay the inflated price.

Thanks for all the good advice...don't worry I'm not going to spend $600. That was my first contact anyway...I will keep getting estimates.

true about everything you mentioned on install but i also cheated by using a big crescent wrench instead of a 30 mm socket.
