4in Lift ?'s
Hey, glad you got your measurements...I didnt see all the new posts till today! What did you find out as to the difference to your 6" lift? Wait, what size tires are you running?
I'm just leveled on 32"s at the moment. I'm wanting a lift 6" or 4" just trying to figure out what the difference really is and then compare that to what my stance is right now.
Not trying to hijack, but has anyone seen a 4" rancho or similar on a 97-03 with a body lift? I have 3" BL now, just kicking around idea of 4", as I have 35's and want to stick with them. Thinking 35's would look better on a 4+3 lift than a 6+3 lift. Any thoughts??
I had a 2.5" leveling kit on my truck before installing the lift. Ride quality probably changed a little bit, but that was expected since I went from stock tires to 35"x12.5" ATZ's which are a stiffer tire. I can also adjust my shocks and they are not on their softest settings. I like how my truck rides, I think it rides great. If you go with a mud terrain I imagine the ride would be a little rougher due to the tread design.
Well I called an off road shop near the town I'm going to be moving to and they gave me some prices.
4" Rancho kit $1992.00
Front shocks $366.80
Rear shocks $193.00
Labor for install $640
Grand total-------$3191.80
I definitely DID NOT commit to this since I feel like lift is too much but the labor is a good price. Let me know what you guys think.

I should also mention that if I buy the lift on my own not through him that there is a 30% increase in labor charges. Also if I buy through him that he warranties everything and will fix anything that ever goes wrong with it.
I agree, I think that's too much for the Rancho lift. I got mine with all four adjustable shocks for $1,800. Granted that was during a 10% off sale and free shipping from 4wheelparts.com. But the point is if you look around you can get the lift cheaper. The install doesn't seem too bad, but having installed mine myself I have trouble justifying higher costs for possible warranty work if something goes wrong with it. I just don't see something breaking on it that wouldn't be classified as "caused by operator error" (such as banging into something while offroading, so I think you'd get charged for repair work anyway. Mine has been on for about two years now, with no issues.
I would buy the lift yourself as cheap as you can find it. Then find a shop (not necessarily a shop that "specializes" in lifts), check some independent auto shops in your area with a good reputation, tell them what you have, and see what they'd charge. Definitely get a few prices though.
I'd look for something more along the lines of what Jcaz07 paid. That sounds like a great deal. For the difference of what he paid having it installed and me installing mine myself, if I didn't enjoy doing this kind of stuff so much I'd of paid to have it installed too!
