Leveling kit question for 2006 4WD King Ranch

Hello,

I am looking to put Nitto Terra Grappler LT305 55 20's on my stock wheels and have a few questions.

1. Understand from posts that an AS 2" leveling kit will raise my front 2.5". If my front dimension from the ground to the wheel well is only 1.5" lower than the back is adding the AS rear 1.5" kit the best solution?
2. Some say this tire size tire will rub at full lock position even with the kit, and other posts say no rubbing at all. Does anyone have first hand experience with this setup?
3. After reading the instructions online, the steel spacers looks fairly straight forward to put on in my garage. Any tricks or problems to look for?

Thanks

1. welcome

2. 2" level will raise 2". AS also offers a 2.5" kit. if you add the 2" it should be close to level. if you like a little rake, add the 1.5" block for the back. i did and love it.

3. the tires might rub on the front corner of the bumper but can take alittle trimming to solve. no biggie.

4. the install took me 2.5 hours for the first time doing it. has instructions and very straight forward like you said. make sure when you take the upper ball joint nut off, you have some sort of limiting strap to hold the spindle to the upper c arm so you dont stretch the cv axle. also be carefull not to crossthread the upper balljoint, its a BIG pita to fix!

hope it helps, good luck with it. enjoy the site.

A buddy of mine had an 06 king ranch, we put the 2.5in level on his and it sat perfect. Take ur time on the install, and dont worry when you see how close the upper control arm gets to the spring, when you drop it back down it move away. 05Crewzer is right, expect 2.5 to 3 hours first time, once you get the first side done, the other side will go quickly!!

05crewzer,

Thanks.

I guess I'll just start with the front & add the back if needed. Level is great, but don't want the back to sag.

I first found kits from Tuff Country & Skyjacker, but noticed all the recommendations on the forum for AS. AS is less expensive. Are all the steel kits all the same? I want the easiest for a self install.

yeah, some trucks differ. do the front and drive it, let the front end settle down. if you want to do the back afterwards, there ya go.

not all steel kits are the same. i hear the AS has a slight angle to help the overall angles your changing. my HBS works just fine so far. honestly the are about the same in installation though.

The aal will make the rear very stiff, which is fine if that is what you want. If you want the factory ride look at a quality rear block kit that is about 3" to replace the factory spacer and U bolts.

Another consideration is leaving the OEM block and getting a 2" lift shackle. Super easy to install and can quickly lift the entire spring pack the desired height. These are readily available online.

Autospring makes a rear block as well. 1.5 for 2wd and 3 inch for 4wd. Remove the stock block and add the 3 inch for 4wd to give an additional 1.5 inches of lift for rear.

yeah my bad. i realize i put aal but personally have a readylift 1.5" block. it kept the factory ride. aal does make it stiffer but if you tow often then your a step ahead. either way not everyone needs or wants it. i like a slight rake in the back but some want it nicely leveled.
