Hi, i'm new

Hello everyone, i am new to the forums. I am a proud owner of a 2005 F150, screw 4x4 xlt, shortbed. I am interested in some help with expert Ford owners.

I need help in finding a good 4 inch lift complete kit, replacement aftermarket differential gearing, good size rims and tires preferably 33s and MTs, Brake rotors, Brake calipers and pads.

Any suggestions on where to find this criteria (i.e. websites) please reply.

thank you.

Welcome man im new too. But as for lift kits and tires Look into a fabtech kit and some toyo mud terrain tires. Been running the tires for years and well they last pretty damn long for a mud terrain. Got about 45k out of mine and love them in the mud and on the road. No noises while driving until they get bald and work really well in the mud. And the Fabtech kit I install at least 3 a week and they perform and ride awesome. They make a good dirt logic shock and coil over kit for your truck. So look into those tires and lift kit. For brakes your stock ones will work fine enless you want to make the truck look good and perform better then stock.

4"....you'll be told to go with rancho...although a 2.5" leveling kit is much cheaper and not too much lower than the 4"....and you can fit 35's with just the leveling kit also....for the other stuff..google...and i agree with the toyo mt

I'd suggest the 6 inch Fabtech, RCD or BDS lifts. The Rancho is a good kit also. All of these lifts will allow you to fit 35's easily. 33's would look too small.

Welcome to the site! I would recommend looking into rough country, rancho, trailmaster, and superlift. Rocky Mountain Susp has some good lifts (you'll notice another brand that sells the 4" at the top of this page, ZONE Offroad... I have never heard of them so I can't say anything good or bad about them, but personally, I would go with a trusted brand name when you're paying a good deal of money for a lift): http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/fd4_F150_04+.htm

As for your brakes, your OEM ones should do fine. If you want better stopping power, look into some hawk pads

Where abouts in Hawaii are you?

To be honest it all comes down to how much you want to spend and what you plan on doing with your rig. If you are already sold on a 4" lift, then I suggest the Rancho Kit and 35's. My truck looks good and drives great yet it is not so tall that I cannot get my kids in the back seat or my wife in the front. Value wise if height is not a real issue, than you can go with a 6" Fabtech, ProComp, Rough Country, etc and pricewise they'll all be about the same. Since an '05, you should replace your lower ball joints and upper control arms (with ball joints) at the same time. It'll be one less thing to worry about. For parts I go to Rockauto.com and I like the Moog stuff for bj's and the control arms.

I currently have 3.73 gearing w/ my 35's and to be honest it is not bad driving at all. I plan on going to 4.56's cause I tow a boat, but if it wasnt for that, I would be ok with the 3.73s. I do have an EDGE tuner which helps driveablity so that's something else to think about too. Look into the Gryphon from http://gopowerhungry.com/ Bill is a member in the Tuner forum and a great guy.

Brakes, I think the concensus is Wagner ThermoQuiets for the front (I love them and they dont dust like the OEMs), and for rears I just went with the premium semi-metalics from Napa autoparts. For rotors, not too sure, but I may go with an OEM replacement from either Napa or Rockauto.

Finally for the kit itself, that's a tough one cause if you order via the internet, you will be footing the bill on shipping. If you have a 4Wheel parts wholesaler near you, that will be your best bet, but for cheapest, you will have to do some Googling!

Good luck and welcome to the board.

Welcome to the site. Go 12inch ... For real though look into a 6inch rather than 4inch.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I am sold to a 4 inch lift kit, i am a short guy. So going to big would prevent me from getting in my truck.

To stove top: I'm from Kauai. No 4x4 AM dealers here. Price is not a concern. And i think i'm gonna take you on going with 35s.

But before i do all this, i need help with HID lighting and projector head lights. I tinted my front windows to prevent glare from oncoming traffic. But i cant find suggestions or installations anywhere on this forum.

Thanks again guys.

Personally I don't like projector heads on our trucks. I think they don't look right. As for HIds, a lot of people here run DDMs. http://www.ddmtuning.com/

I run Wagner ThermoQuiets pads and Wagner rotors all around and I really like them. Not a bad price either.
