Need Advice on Lifts
Need Advice on Lifts
I'm ready to go a little bigger with the shop truck and update the wrap to turn a few more heads. It's just not obnoxious enough for me anymore. This truck brings in a great deal of business for us as it is. I want to take it to the next level.
I think I want to do a 6 inch suspension lift with 35's. That's the extent of the decisions I've made and I don't have a lot of knowledge in this area. So, for a daily driver 2 wheel drive truck that is never taken offroad... what is a good option for me on the lift kit? What's the best bang for your buck? Where is the best place to buy? Should I keep the 2" AS or will the truck sit level without it after adding the lift? Or if it won't sit level should I leave the AS or drop the back? Should I keep my almost brand new 17's and just put bigger tires or move up to a 20" wheel to keep things proportioned.
Here's a pic of my truck as it is right now along with a pic of a truck I saw on here that I really, really like the look of. Does this truck have more than 6"? Are those 20" wheels? 35s or 37s? Can you guys point me in the right direction on what products to look at to achieve this style? Thanks!

No he has a 8" Rize lift with 37" Nitto Mud Grapplers and i think 20's. If your wanting a 6" then Fabtech and Pro Comp are well liked lifts around here. The Pro comp is going to be alittle cheaper but by no means a junky lift. The really only difference is the Pro comp has a 6" spacer and the Fabtech comes with strut extenders. Most people dont like the idea of 6" spacers but many people run them with no problems.
That's the Rize 8" and 37" Nitto Mud Grapplers on what looks like 20" Moto Metals. Since you want bang for the buck and you don't offroad, I'd suggest the ProComp 6". It'll run you around $1500 on ebay or from Top Gun Customz. You want want to add the 2" as on top of the supplied 6" one. It has been done but many consider it unsafe. You won't need it to level the truck anyhow. The wheels are up to you. Depends on what you like. I think the ones you have now would look good with 35's personally
I have the same truck as yours. I am running the skyjacker 6" with a 2" level and a 3" block in the back to level it out.
Unlike 4wd, 2wd's dont have a block in the back (4wd have a 1 or 2 inch) so if you want to run 37's your gonna need to have the lift+level+block. which is the cheaper option.
If you want to really turn heads run the 8" rize or like Mhockey go all out and buy the 12"
Its all about what kind of money you want to spend....

When I pull up my truck model on 4wheelparts and look at the fabtech 6 inch kits, there are probably 4 different variations ranging from 1600-2800. Is it just different brands of components they include? Is it better to stick with the basics or the Dirt Logic stuff?
You dont need the Dirt logics, for what your doing the basic kit will fit your needs. The expensive one comes with coilovers to where you can crank them for more lift in the front. I would steer clear of 4 wheel parts, there prices are rediculous. If your set on them i would go in and talk to them, the website is so jacked up on my prices its rediculous.
