Do I need different shocks for a leveling kit

My shocks are still original, have 170K on them so I am going to replace them next weekend. I am also planning on putting in a 2 inch (or so) leveling kit in about a month. Do I need different length shocks once the leveling kit is put in? Or can I just install stock sized shocks now and not worry about it.

Thanks
RJ

[/IMG]You can kill two birds with one stone by replacing your worn out overdue shocks with Bilstein 5100's. The fronts have a two inch adjustment which will level your truck and overall provide a much better ride. The you won't need the leveling kit. I have 'em as well as many others here and think they are great. Just an idea...

He has a '99 dude...does not apply.

And to answer your question...No! You will retain stock shocks. When ever you buy new shocks, the fact that you have a leveling kit is irrelevant.

He might retain the OE size, but at 170k, I doubt he really has any shocks left. Just tubes with a shaft that slides up and down.
