The Truth about leveling?

I just got a new 2010 FX4 and really want it taller and leveled out and to be able to fit larger tires. I have been reading a lot of posts about the leveling kits, but I'm tossed because I've heard of some having problems down the road with them. I would just like to hear what the pros and cons are of them! thanks

Its fine. It will wear out front end parts faster though. As long as you dont get a big one then you wont have any real problems from it

I have a 2005 f150 but its pretty similar to the 2009 up. So far the leveling kit on my truck has been fine I've been running it with some 35" tire for a little over a year without any problems. I take it out on a regular basis to the trails and small pits around me and haven't broke any cvs or ripped any boots just have to be somewhat careful with them.

Most people stick to the rule of going with a kit no taller than 2.5".

I have the AS 2.5" on my 05 with 285/70/17 tires for going on almost 3 years. I do the very very occasional light off road and have had zero suspension problems

The increased wear is mainly on the ball joints. However, this is a high wear item to begin with so I don't think it's gonna shorten their life much. So, are you gonna be really upset if you install a leveling kit and your ball joints last 45,000 miles instead of 50,000 miles?

Thanks for all the input! I was thinking about getting a 2.5" for the front and the 3" block for the rear. And then put on some 305 BFGs on the stock rims until I can get new rims. Which company is the best place to get the leveling kit from?

I recommend the Autospring 2.5", also do yourself a favor and spend the extra $10 for the powder coated set.

I used the Hell Bent 2" on my 2009 SuperCrew LongBed. No issues at all.
I do need to adjust my high lights though.

go autospring, it seems to be the most popular on this forum among the members. there all pretty much the same though as long as you stick to a design similar to the autospring if your wanting to branch out.
