Lift Kit Crossmember installation help

ive been working all day installing my lift kit. i went to install the new drop down crossmembers and on the new front one i can only get one side lined up. its not off by much but just enough to make it so i cant get the bolts through. me and my dad worked at it for just over an hour with out any success.

what do you think can be done to fix it. we had one side on then switched to the other side to see if the other side was easier to get the bolt through.

any help is appreciated. for those who dont know my truck is a 98 2wd.

Thanks

got a pic?

also i might not be 100% positive, but are you sure it is for your exact truck?
there could be some slight differences b/w the 97/98 through the 99/03's.

No pics since it's dark and has been since I started putting the crossmembers in. Through 97-03 things changed but I'm fairly certain that the main suspension components remained the same throughout. Another indicator of that is the fact that I already got the rear crossmember In on both sides.

It's such a small difference that I think it may be just a tolerancing thing or something to do with the lining that was put on from the manufacturer. I'm gonna call my local shop and talk to them since rcd is in Cali and won't open till around 9-10 am my time.

I think it needs to be taught a lesson. Dont be afraid to force it into submission.
