Pro Comp Stage 1 6 Inch Lift

I am about to lift my truck and I have not decided on a lift yet. I am leaning towards the Pro Comp Stage 1 lift because of the sale they are having atm. I am getting it for 1500. Although I have looked into Rough Country and also Fabtech. Really not loving Fabtech's price though.

My Question is has anyone had any significant problems with their pro comp stage 1 kit and is it a complete kit meaning, is my *** end going to sag and Im going to have to buy more items to get it right. Also, for around 1500 dollars is there another lift I should be looking at? Oh and i am putting 35" Toyo MT's on it. I have not decided on 18 or 20 inch rims though heh.

Thanks,

Kuhlmann

What year truck do you have ?

4x4 or 4x2 ?

im assuming since you mentioned PC stage 1 ,RC & Fabtech you have 04-08 4x4

Im gunna recommend BDS

you can get their "Stage 1" spacer Kit for roughly the same price as the Pro comp and the BDS comes with their "no fine print" warranty, block + AAL to make the rear sit level, and new front brake lines.

for an extra $200 you can upgrade to new front struts

The pro comp stage 1 kit comes with 2" or 2.5" block that you stack ontop of your factory block and it will sit about an inch or 2 lower in the rear

Now doesnt the front end of the f150 sit about an inch lower than the rear? If thats the case wouldnt it level it out? It does come with a 2 1/2 inch block in the rear.

I have the Pro Comp stage 1 lift on my truck, and for the past 34,000 miles it has been flawless. The lift is complete, but by design will not raise the back end as high as the front of the truck. Most people that install the PC lift kits elect not to install the rear shims included with the lift, and due to this their rear end sits lower than the front. If you install all of the included shims, the rear will sit about the same as on a Fabtech lift kit. While the PC lift kits does stack the rear blocks, it really isn't that bad. In my time with the lift I have had no ill effects from the rear end, and I am not one to shy away from using my truck as a truck: towing 7,500 pounds a couple of times, 6,000 pounds many times, 2,500 pounds practically weekly and hauling items of decent weight in the bed routinely have done nothing to upset this lift.

I won't lie to you and say that the PC lift is the best one in existence, but for the money it is darn good. I personally like the steering feel on a Pro Comp lift over that of a Fabtech lift, but I have not driven any other brands to compare. All of my angles are within factory tolerance, my alignment is correct so as not to wear the tires and overall the quality of the lift has been good.

Ya thanks to all of you for your input and opinions. I just called Pro Comp and they said to level it out I need to buy there add a leaf. I believe that is what I am going to do because price wise I really cant beat what Im getting it at, and my friend who is a dealer/mechanic doesnt deal with BDS =/. I will definitly post before and after pics.

Thanks again

I have the 6" lift with the 2" add a leaf in the rear, and none of the shims installed. It is close to level, but the back end is slightly higher than the front (similar to how it comes from the factory, but not as extreme).
