drop shackles vs drop leafs

i have an fx2 i got my 20" wheels but there not going on till spring and i wanted to drop the back to level it out. i've done GF shackles before and that was fine but i read they dont completely level it out. so i was considering 3" drop leafs for the rear. but i have some questions first.

1. which set up is better for pay load
2. which rides better
3. i know i would go ground force on the shackles but who makes the best springs
4. will i need shims with 3" drop leafs

thanks guys

Shackles level it out just fine. If you just do leafs your ride will be all messed up, tuned rear and stock front equals mismatched suspension.

oh well thats cool then. i only mentioned the drop shackles cause i read on this forum somewhere that 2" shackles dont level it completely and the best way is a 3" in the rear. but if the shackles work fine then thats cool. cheaper and easier on me hahaha.

Some FX2's have a 1" block in between their leafs and the axle. Something else to look into while considering the drop shackles.

yeah i heard there may be a 1" block but i have never looked to be honest. lets say i do have one and remove it and install the shackles, will the ride be good or bad. also will the shims that are included with the GF shackles be good to use or would i need different ones.

If it helps I used the GF shackles with shims. I have a 08 model. The truck is level and I think the ride is much better. I towed a chevy S10 on a trailor from Kansas to TN. Never bottomed out & there was mimumum sag.

so if i have a 1" block and use the ground force shackles would you leave the block or take it out? but honestly i dont think i have one cause when i measured the height front and back there was a 2" difference but im just curious on what i should do if there is.
