Torsion Bar question.

I want to lift my 01 EXpd, for just a little more clealrnce over my tires. I am going to adjust the T bars in the front, and ad Daystar spacers in rear. I have the option of 1 or 1 3/4" spacers. The question is how much lift can I get out of the T bars, without destroying the ride, or tearing up parts?

If you crank the stock torsion bars then you can get around 2" of lift. Dont go over 2". Its less about the inches and more about watching the ball joints, and cv angles and makin sure they arent at bad angles

If you go this route then id recommend replacing the shocks to shocks that are made for 1-2" of lift. It will help the ride alot.

DONT BUY AFTERMARKET TORSION KEYS!!!!

Every truck is a little different. If your torsion bars have a lot of preload now, you may only gain about an inch of lift. If they don't have much preload, you may get a little over 2 inches. I'd mark the bars, crank 'em up and see how much lift you get. Then you can decide on what size spacer you need and return the torsion bars to the setting they are at now. Just keep an eye on your CV joint angles.
