Coilover questions!

Ok, ive got a 06 supercrew with a 6in pro comp stage 1 lift on it and it also has a 2 1/2 in leveling kit. I wanna get rid of the leveling kit and add some coilovers. Ive been lookin around and unsure of what i need to be looking for. Do i need to get a coil over kit or just coilovers to add to my truck? Any suggestions as to what coilover i should go with? Will i notice that much of a difference by adding the coilovers versus not having them on my pc stage 1?

Since you have a Pro COmp kit, I'd go with their coilovers. I'm not sure what you mean by a coilover vs. a coilover kit. Since you want to get rid of your leveling kit it sounds like you want the Pro Comp MX-6 coilovers for your kit.

yea i was a lil confused when i came across it...i assumed i would just buy the PC coilovers and install them...then i found this on topguncustomz http://www.topguncustomz.com/Store/G...7549978...just was unsure of what to get bc on topguns site it says "This kit is designed for vehicles that already have a 6" lift and are looking to upgrade from coils/struts or strut spacers to full on Pro Comp MX2.75C Coil-overs and include rear adjustable MX-6 shocks." so i was a lil confused as to what to get

I take it you come from the world of sport compact cars where you can get a coil over conversion kit (like Ground-Control and other brands) and mount it to your existing strut.

For the F150, there are several options to achieve the same ride height you have now.

Option #1: you can stack a 2.5" leveling spacer on top of the 6" lift spacer included in the Pro Comp basic lift kit (this is the method you are currently using)

Option #2: replace the OEM strut and the 2.5" spacer with a Bilsein 5100 shock. These shocks allow you to level the truck 2" above stock (or in the case of your truck, 2" above the lift height)

Option #3: replace the OEM strut and the 2.5" spacer with a coil-over like the Camburg or King Shocks. These allow you to level the front end of a stock truck about 2", or in the case of your truck 2" above the lift height.

Option #4: replace the OEM strut, the 2.5" leveling spacer and the 6" lift spacer with a coil-over setup like the Fabtech Dirt-logic, Pro Comp MX6 or Sway Away Race Runner. These shocks are longer than stock and provide the 6" of lift that you currently get from the spacer and can be cranked up for another 2" of ride height.

Im running into the same problems as you. I also have the Procomp Stage 1 kit. But am going to get the Fabtech Dirt Logic Coilovers to replace my lift spacer and stuff. I am just figuring this stuff out and am on the road to success. Now I just need more money, lol.
