ways to fit 35s on a 2001 s crew

I have a 2001 4x4 super crew f150 and I want it to be able to fit 35 inch tires. I would like to know some different possible ways to do this for example the best way, the cheapest way, the easiest way. I wont be doing very much off roading I just really like the look. I go mudding in fields a few times a month and really enjoy it. I would like to be higher off the ground because when it rains and the mud gets really soft I cant do as much because my truck gets stuck. Somebody told me I could get 33s on there without doing anything so if all else fails I could just do that. Ive been looking for used suspension lifts on ebay and craigslist for a while but I havent found any yet. I could always do a body lift but I dont really want to pay that much to get them installed. I could have one of my relatives install a body lift for cheap but I still dont really like the look that much. Does anybody have any up close pics of their truck with a body lift. I will be needing tires within the next year so I would like to upgrade to 35 inchers. I have found a lot of good deals on craigslist on wheels with the tires on them so Im not really worried about that.

any help would be great.

You can get 35's under there with some minor rubbing by cranking your torsion bars and adding a taller block or add a leaf in the rear. Thats the quickest and cheapest way. A full suspension lift would be best, but would cost the most. What motor and gears combo do you have? If you have a 4.6 with 3.55's I do not recommend going to 35's.

^^^ you can do that but you must use the stock rims to run 35's without a lift. A body lift is the cheapest and easiest. I installed mine in about 8 hours. But a suspension lift would be best.

Find out what gears you have, 3.55 or 3.73. I think you can do it based off your sticker by the door. Here is a link to help you: https://www.f150online.com/forums/ot...ear-ratio.html You may find out you would be better off going with 33's unless you want to regear, due to excessive power loss.

would this lift my truck it says it can fit 35s but I might just go with 33s. Is this a way of just cranking the torsion bar. If I got this kit would that be all I needed.

that has the torsion bar keys IMO I WOULD NOT do! They will wear out your ball joints fast and you can do the same thing by cranking up your factory torsion bars for free!! Just get an alignment afterward. I have learned from many members on here like Wandell that these keys are NOT the way to go I would crank the torsion bars and go w/ a PA body lift if you want to do it on the cheap.

You should be able to run 33" inch tires on your stock suspension...that's what I'm running on my '02 Expy...no rubbing. With the right tires, you'd get a good look. Though...I'd really like a little lift to run 35's as well. But like others alluded to, then you have other things you have to begin worrying about: gearing, etc.

if I get the body lift is there anything that I could do to fit different wheels. I read somewhere that if you have a 3" body lift with 35s you have to have the stock wheels. Just a question because I might end up getting my truck regeared. Im just saving up for everything now and doing research.

If you get a 3" body lift you can fit 35's on aftermarket wheels with 4.5" of back spacing.

look for something 10" wide.
