Shaking Steering Wheel

Hi guys, I keep finding problems with my F-150, I hope this is the last one of the year lol...

When I am driving down the highway at let's say 50-60mph, always with my foot down the gas pedal, if I stop pressing the gas pedal the car and the steering wheel start shaking a little, at this point I am NOT pressing the brakes, this happens then the car is cruising, if I hit the gas again or if I hit the brakes the shaking goes away.

I was told it may be the idler arm, how can I spot a faulty idler arm or tie rods, I've never know how to check them.

jack up the front of the truck, then have someone else turn the steering wheel for you and if you see any play in the idler arm/tie rod then that is the problem.

While you have the truck jacked up, grab each tire and try to wiggle them by hand in all directions. If you have what appears to be too much play in anything then narrow the worn part down by looking at whats moving. That's pretty much the only way to tell. Get down there and have a look.

Thank you guys, I will do that this weekend, I hope it's just a bad idler arm.

I just fixed it, the problem was bad U-joints, I just replaced them, took me about 2 hrs, a friend suggested it was the U-joints so we checked them and they were all loose.

Check those u-joints, that may fix your problem, and they're not expensive, about $16 each. You need two.
