Exclamation i need some help...im a newb...

hey guys, i need some help here. im brand new to all of this. i have a 2003 f-150, extended cab, 2wd, v6. im looking to put a 7.5' fabtech suspension lift on my truck, with some 35' tires. but i want to talk to some ppl that have done it before i actually do it. is there anything else that i need besides the lift kit and the tires? like any little things that i will need that dont come with the kit? just checking. thanks for all the help.

also posibly some suggestions for some good tires to fit my truck. thanks.

You will probably want to get your truck re-geared because a v6 will be a dog with 35s and definitely get some new wheels otherwise the larger tires will rub on the steering knuckles. The kit includes everything that you are going to need.

The tires that you can get totally depend on the wheels that you decide to buy. Some tires arent made in all wheel sizes so you are limited to a sense to what tires you can buy.

re-gearing = changing gears in your rear differential. id recommend 4.56 is you go with 35s. should be about $750 to re-gear. not a complete necessity, so you can hold off if you decide you don't want to. but performance will be affected with 35's.

tire size: id go with a 35, anything smaller will look out of place, you could possibly run 37's with the right wheel if you did a spacer in your front coils.

rims: up to you, just make sure it fits the lift requirements.

another option for lift is a doestch spindle lift, it uses new spindles and a spacer i believe gives about 5-6" of lift, PM b2therad he just did it

I'd run at least 35's with the 7.5 inch Fabtech. I'd also regear to 4.88 gears with a V6 and 35's.

so when you say performance will b affected like if i wanted to go offroading? or just plain driving will feel different? cause honestly, all im going for is looks and i dont have the extra $750 to re-gear it, but if it runs differently, then i will look into it.

ahhhhh, verry verrrrrrry true!!!!

so do i really need to get my truck re-geared? cause all im really going for is looks. speed and all that dont matter?

also if i get a suspension lift, i have dual piped exhaust, will that raise with it, or would i need to cut those off and have it dumped?

and does anyone have any good suggestions for some 35" tires and 18" wheels? and where to find them?

Re-gearing it will bring back some of your gas mileage, and it will better your acceleration. If all its for is looks and you can get along without showing off then you will be fine.

Your exhaust will raise with the lift. It will stay the same.

I would get some BFG Km2 M/ts or toyo M/ts. For wheels its just a personal preference. I have ion alloy 174s.

Also you will be able to run 35s just fine, but any larger and you will need to body lift it.
