What size of stock rear blcok on 4x4s usually?
Hey guys, I have installed 2.5" leveling kits on both my 09 Fx4 and my dads 05 Fx4 and both are sitting nose high... expected at this stage. Orders myself an Add-a-leaf for my truck and a 3" block for dad. My question applys to the rears blocks. Crawled under my dads truck last night to find that his stock blocks are already 2"... From everything i have read, the stock rear blocks are 1-5/8". He does have the max tow on his truck; is this why?
I am a little confussed though. I measured the AS leveling kits at 1-5/8" and I know that is the 2.5" kit, but why did he gain so much? To level perfectly, he requires 1-1/4"as the truck sits now.
Just curious what size the 4x4, Fx4 and tow package blocks are usually.

I thought they were 2 inch blocks? Im not a hundred percent sure though. I just know that most of the time with leveling kits to get the rear back up most people suggest a 3 inch block or AAL, so i assumed they were all 2 inch blocks on the 4 wheel drives. Im sure you knew that already. I also thought that the 04-05 trucks had more rake to start with, at least my 05 fx4 seemed like it sat higher then my 06 lariat.....

Im a little confused i guess...Ok so how much higher is yours sitting in the front...and how much higher is his sitting in the front...from ground to fender? dont look at what is under the truck ,because as you see from the leveling kits to get 2.5 inches its not a 2.5" spacer. I think its the geometry of the spacer and the strut that gives you that addtional length when you install the leveling kits. .Anyway, take some measurements on that first and see what you need for inches to make it sit level...If anything it would be better to sit with a touch of rake IMO. And im sure you can make your own adjustments to the blocks if its that much off. A half of an inch is pretty close to tell without a tape measure, but you gotta do what you gotta do!!

I have not measured my truck in a while. But i did just measure his. He sits nose high about 1-1/4". He runs a 35" tire and his measurements where 40-3/4" rear, and 42" front. So if I were to add a 3" block, he would still sit slightly nose high about 1/4".
I will see him tonight and get back

agreed, if you are trying to gain one inch over all, take the block out and do a 3" AAL
