I have my new Bilsteins on the way and will be doing install myself. Can I get a quick down and dirty on lift points? I plan on doing the job in my garage which doesn't have much clearance with height.
On the front, I was thinking I'd put the jack under the lower control arm, jack it up just enough to remove the tire, and then place a jack stand under the frame and lower the jack to let the suspension hang free for shock removal. Does that sound right? Does that sound right? Any particular place on the frame I need to put the jack?
How bout for the rears...just jack the axle with enough clearance for tire removal...and where under the frame should I put the stand?

For the rear... I would try to put the jack stands on the frame rail if you can. I have also put my jack stands on the rear axle tube a few times... not sure if that's best practice or not, but it has worked for me when rotating my tires.
the front just jack from the frame rails and there are two jack stand points that have the matching curves your stands will have. then remove the tire.

My concern is that if I jack the frame rails to get the tires off, I'll be raising the body too much and wont have enough overhead clearance due to the garage door opener. And my driveway is on a bit of a grade so I dont think that would be safe?
What is the risk if the truck is raised from the suspension and then lowered onto a stand at the frame? Do I risk damaging anything by putting the jack under the suspension?

well the problem is your jacking a spring and when you lift it the spring will have the tendency to bounce and when you push up on the LCA the spring pushes up on the truck and it could bounce it off the jack. depending on how big a jack you have you could try and do it on the engine cross member or just go to a parking lot close by or the street if your have clearance issues
