2" AS leveling kit 1/2 high in the front??

'05 F-150 4x4 King Ranch with 54000 miles on it.

I ordered the 2" kit because from reading and researching, I expected this to leave the front slightly lower than the rear.

I can not stand how it looks when the front is higher which is why I ordered the 2" kit.

I've contacted AS and am awaiting a response but I wanted to post here and see if anyone has any suggestions. I do tow a boat and carry light loads fairly often so the problem will only be exasperated during those times.

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot.

I have the 2" on my 04FX4 and had the same issue. When I measured the wheel wells the rear was slightly higher, but to my eye it looked lower. With any load in the bed I though it looked horrible.

I installed a Procomp AAL and the problem is solved. The rear now measuers about 1.5" higher than the front, and it takes over 1500lbs in the bed to make the rear sag lower than the front.

Yep, you can do the AAL route, or get shorter rear spring shackles. I did the 2.5AS on the front of my 07 4X4, and it was a little high, and the shackles were cheap on ebay, and lifted it about an inch in the rear.. now we are perfect

I put the 2" also and thought it was to high still wanted to keep some rake so I called AS and they sent me some 1.5" and I returned the 2" now I have the rake without adding a rear block.

Yes.

I was exactly 2" of rake before the spacers and 2.5" after install and alignment. /shrug

I have 1.5's on the way. We'll see how they come out.

Yeah I was close to 3" before the kit, and got the expected 2.5" of lift out of the 2" kit. I thought .5" of rake to the wheel wells would be enough but I didn't like it. Depending on the slope the truck appeared to sag sometimes. Any amount of load in the bed also made it look bad IMO. With the AAL I'm about 1.5" higher in the back. Not as much rake as the factory, but still enough to notice.

I think the perfect combo for me would have been the 2.5" kit with the AAL. That would have netted a little more than 1" rake, but I am still very happy with my current setup.

K thanks, just wondering for future reference because I think last time I measured I was pretty close to a even 2" so Id definitly have to go for the 1.5. Once I get back from my trip in a couple weeks Im ordering new wheels and Im going to level the front or the back depending on what will look better with the wheels on.

I have the same problem as bexline. 2" AS which raised it 2.5", now the rear is 1" low. Can't decide if I should block the rear, or put in an AAL. How does the Pro Comp AAL ride? Is there a big difference? And did you go with the short or long AAL?

I don't want to swap in the 1.5" level kit because I like the amount of clearance in the front with the 33's.

Deffinitely go with a long AAL. Procomp is long and the ride barely changed. Short AALs are more prone to stiff rides.

Maybe I will do that instead of a block, it seems like a lot of people are using the Pro Comp long AAL. Is this the bottom spring in the pack or is it sandwiched between the 2 leafs? I'm guessing the latter because I haven't seen tabs on any of the AAL spring pictures.

It went just below the top leaf on my truck. So its the 2nd longest in the pack. AALs that go on the bottom are "short" and probably not what you want.
