How many threads are necessary?

I am about to purchase a 5" block to replace the 3" block that came with the fabtech lift the previous owner put on it. It looks like my current U-bolts are the 3 1/4 x 13 1/2 x 9/16". The problem is when I put on the 5" block there will only be like 3-5 threads above the top of the nut. Is that sufficient? I can't find where to get longer U-bolts, at least not from fabtech. Thanks again as always!

As long as the nut has full engagement of threads you're good to go.

Find a local frame/spring shop in your area. They will be happy to bend any sort of u-bolt length you will need for a fair price.

3 to 5 threads should be plenty. Make sure they are tight and as always, just check them from time to time.

I would want atleast 2-3 threads on top of the nut, and preferably 5 or more
