3" Body Lift..What else in required?

I've been looking into doing a 3" body lift sometime soon and am curious on what else needs to be purchased with the kit....i heard from a friend i need "bumper spacers" to make the bumpers even with the rest of the truck.. Running a leveling kit with 33's and just want to nice suttle lift for now. Especially for it being a 2wd. Also, the shop i talked to said it would run me $1200 out the door. Rip off or no?

When you purchase the BL, the Bumper spacers "SHOULD" come with the kit. Call them and make sure they do. Also ensure that a set of gap guards are also included with it.

Thats a really good price... that's about what I paid for mine... and you should be able to fit 35s under there nicely if you're a 2wd w/ a level kit and a body lift. I have a thread in the other aftermarket section about how to install the gap guards. You can get them from Summit Racing - but the instructions are no good whatsoever that come w/ the kit, which is why I posted that thread on the install

$1200 is a lot, but not for your year model truck. Your year model is a pain to install body lifts on and takes longer so they get you with more labor. You might try asking a couple other places just to get their prices.

The guy told me that the actual kit is only like $450-$500 but it takes them almost 2 days to do it because yes it is a PAIN to do. I sure as hell aint doin it! im also staying with them because i got my 33's from them and they hooked me up with free rotations and such. They also sell and install the equivalent to hornblasters train horn kits for $650 out the door and the guy told me he would bump it down considerably if i did the lift with them. Sounds like a plan i guess right? except i have to find the money for these toys! haha

With just doing a 2" leveling kit on my 2008 2wd, I had to have eccentric cam bolts x2 for the alignment to be good. They were not cheap, like $90 each installed...

Gap Guards are the things that cover the space that is made between the body and the frame after installing a body lift. You can get them in a number of different places for a number of different prices, but I would ask the place installing the body lift to get them and install them at the same time as your body lift.

You don't need anything else if it's a good kit. The Performance Accessories kits come with all the hardware and bumper brackets. The only thing they don't come with are the aforementioned gap guards, which you installer can get. They are not expensive.
