6" pro-comp or 3" ReadyLift.... money is tight

Okay so I am doing suspension work on my truck next week but still don't know what I want to do. Now obviously everyone is going to run in here and say "do the 6" lift" now just hold on and give me your honest opinion based on the info below.

- The 'lift' is ONLY for looks and bigger tires. The truck is pretty long and is raked pretty good so I want it to not be as raked and not as long looking.

- The 6" pro comp is $4200.00 with the new drive shaft and install (Canadian remember USofA boys).

- The truck is used 95% on road as a daily driver. 3% for camping and 2% for dirt bikes. I went down some quad trails on it once and it wont happen again.

- The 3" front 1.5" rear is $850.00 plus alignment and am told I can fit a narrow 35.

- Money IS an issue, not that I cant afford the $4300.00 but if I would be happy with the ready lift I would be pissed about the extra $3500.00 I could have used on a new dirt bike.

- I dont want to spend $850.00 on the ready lift, get it back and say that is it? and be pissed I just dropped a grand and now have to go and buy the 6"

- I plan on using my stock rims (18x7) for whatever tires I am going to get.

- New tires wont be put on for at least a year.

- I live in a snowy area (if that changes anything.)

- I like the look of the 6" lift and am having a hard time finding someone with a SCrew/Regular box who has done the 3"/1.5"

- AutoSpring stuff is nice but no where in town will install anything purchased off the internet.

I wouldnt go with the 3" lift just because its going to put to much stress on your front end components go with the 2.5" and then a new block or an aal for the back and get some 35's for your stock tires or go with a wheel with a width no more than 8" with atleast 5.5" of backspacing.

i am assuming you have the 35's and they dont rub? what dimensions are your tires?

What size did you AAL/Block?

You can do a 2" leveling kit and AAL for under $200. And run 35" tires all day long on stock wheels.

I went with the 2.5" autospring leveling kit
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Auto-...d=p3911.c0.m14
then the pro comp add a leaf put the back up about an inch a half also got that on ebay. My tires are 315/70-17's on a 8" wide wheel with 5.5" of backspacing. I dont rub at all at full steer lock either way and only sometimes in full steer lock to the left in reverse, mind you there was some very minor trimming and it isn't noticeable because the tire hides everything.

WOW!! Those prices are unreal! I'd go with a 2.5 inch Autospring kit.

Hellbentsteel ftw. They're cheap money wise and are amazing construction!

Thanks for the input everyone. Problem with the online stuff is that no one in town will install them, and it is going to snow here next week so the season has passed for me to work on my truck on my own.

I say the leveling kit if cash is tight. some 33's or 35's . install is simple all you need is 45 minutes and a few large sockets.
