Need help on wheels and lift kits!

So ya i have 04 supercab, pretty much all stock, have 3000 to spend on it..Really want to get it lifted, but I want 35's also. I have amechanic tell me they have a leveling kit 3" or 2.5 i think he said that will fit 35's. Um or should i go for a lift kit like 6 inch or more and just get 35's later? Or should I stick with leveling kit and 35's first. Just wondering whats a great brand of lift kits to look into, i was looking at rough country lift kits and they sound pretty solid, and great price..And also if you go to a shop and get them to install a lift kit how much would they normaly charge for labour?

As a general rule, with the new 4x4's with a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit, you can fit 35x12.50's by using the OEM wheels or 33's with aftermarket wheels. If money is tight and you want 35's, you could do this. Install a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit and 35x12.50's on your OEM wheels. Then save your money for a 6 inch suspension lift and some wider aftermarket wheels. Do not go with a 3 inch leveling kit. Pretty much everyone has found they leave the ball joints and CV joints at too severe of an angle to last.

if you shop wisely, you can do a 6" 35's and 17's for under 3k.

if i was you, id look into a 4" rancho then keep your stock rims and put 35x12.5's. then you can always add a 2" leveling kit and an aal or larger rear block to get you at 6"

if you decide on a leveling kit like wandell said stay at 2 1/2" or less. you can fit 35x12.5's w/ stock rims, or 33's with an aftermarket rim.
