Ball joint and control arm

I installed a 2.5" leveling kit today on my truck, and I could not disconnect the ball joint from the upper control arm. I worked on it for a while with a hammer and fork but it wouldn't come out. I ended up taking off the whole lower control arm and steering in order to drop the whole strut assembly and put the spacer on. It wasn't a problem, just took longer. Any comments?

Did you take the bit off?!? Lol jk

You have to wack that spindle pretty damn hard to free the joint. What size hammer were you using? Try a 5lb sledge next time around

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost 100% sure that the factory upper control arm and upper ball joint are one assembly on these trucks. So they wont come apart. When you want to replace them you buy the whole UCA with the ball joint already in it.
