Exclamation Pre-alignment for lift?

I'm getting ready to install the 6" basic Fabtech lift on my truck today, and the install instructions say I need a front alignment to record specs before the install. Is that required? If the shop doing the alignment after the install has the factory specs, why does it need to be pre-aligned?

All of the shops that do alignment here are closed for the holiday weekend, and I'd like to avoid this if possible, but don't want any problems down the road. I installed a 2" AS leveling kit about 15000 mi. ago, and had it aligned afterward, so I would imagine it is still within spec; no pulling when driving.

Thanks.

a pre-alignment is unnecessary, despite whatever the instructions say. don't worry, you'll be ok. make sure you drive to the alignment shop on the stock tires after the lift install, that way you don't risk eating through the tread on your new tires because of the misalignment after the lift install.
