shade tree alignment

i have an 03 4WD F-150 lifted on the fabtech kit, and am contemplating cranking up the torsion bars a little bit. how can i perform a decent shade tree alignment at home afterwards? i don't trust the local shops to do it, and i don't feel like paying ford $90 to realign it... any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Most alignment shops have fairly expensive equipment that they use to perform an alignment. I assume even a poor shop with the supperior tools would be better in the long run trying to "eyeball" it yourself.

Just remember replacing ill worn tires is going to cost you a lot more in the long run.

I agree, there are a couple tricks you can use that may make it better than what it will be after cranking the torsion bars, but its not going to be as good as what the shop can do with their alignment tools (esp castor). In the long run the money spent for the alignment will be worth it.

There are specs you have to meet to be a true alignment and eye ballin or any shade tree way will not work it can even begin to hold a candle to the alignment machines and most now days aligned by a laser and very precise.
