Don't know if RCD makes a 2wd kit, but I really like it. I haven't had any problems, but my only complaint is why they didn't just make it a 6" kit!

I'd suggest the Fabtech or RCD lift for your 4x2.

I don't think $3100 is enough to do what you want in a manner that I would consider the right way. I speant $2000 on rims and tires, though I went with a name brand and paid for it. I spent over $2000 on my lift shipped, and $500 for traction bars. Then, I did the install myself. Any decent tire is going to be over $1000, rims you may be able to find for around $6-800, and lift, you will be looking at least $1500, and that doesn't include any mounting, balancing, install of anything.

I think National Tire and Wheel has a sale on RCD lifts.

I have had 2 trucks with Fabtech lifts on. One was a long travel kit on my 2wd and the other (now) is a 7.5 fabtech lift. If you install the kit yourself its way easy to do it. Took me about 6 hours an I didnt use power tools at all. Fabtech is the way to go. Its the biggest bolt on that is easy to install and you dont have to run a body lift and it still loooks goos with 35" tires. I got some wheels from Craigslist with tires for $700 and the tires were new. The fabtech kits are 1300.

I'd be careful tossing around the term "easy" as it will likely give many unexperienced members the wrong idea. This is no DIY intake mod.

you have to lift the vehicle off the ground and remove major components - if not supported correctly - the vehicle could fall on you, not to mention that errors in torquing, threadlocking, and re-assembly could be very costly in the future, not to mention down right dangerous.

I dont disagree that this isnt doable in your garage - but i sure as heck wouldnt underplay the difficulty.

If you choose procomp and its anything like the 2004+ package
make sure you factor in the price for a driveshaft spacer or extended driveshaft service, and a taller rear block or an ADD A Leaf if you want the rear end to sit at least level and the yoke to not stick out an extra 1.5"

can someone confirm this for his year lift?

OK<OK<OK.If you have done any kind of car/truck work then you could probably put the crossmember kit on yourself. I do recomend using jackstands as a safety measure, but I do mean the kit is easy to place on. In terms easy I mean its easier than bolting up many other kits I have installed in the past few years. It is time consuming and on a shadetree mecahnic level its abot a 5.
