clearing 35's?

im gonna buy another 97 - 03 f150 ext cab 2wd soon, my question is what size lift will i need to clear 35's

my friend has a 4wd with rancho shocks with 35's with no lift. but some sites i see say you need a 6" 7" etc to clear 35's

id like to do a 4" lift and clear 35's im sure i could but wanna double check

my 98 4wd had a 4" with 33's but there was plenty of room

The 97-03 4x4's sit 3 inches taller than the 4x2's. You have a lot of options with a 4x2 to fit 35's. If you'r gonna install a full suspension lift, I'd go with the 6 inch Fabtech.

so technically a 5" lift would work, if 35's work on a stock 4x4, i would be 2" higher...

Yes. You could get 5 inches of lift by combining 2 inch Daystar spacers with a set of lift spindles or a body lift.
