clank clank clank

Every time i go over a bump or cracks in the road i get a clank-clank-clank sound coming from both front wheel areas. Only noticeable with the windows down. It sounds like it could be two metal pieces hitting each other. Its kind of loose sounding too.

Its a 2001 2wd with 178k and all the front end is original. Shocks and everything. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be?

its makin my truck sound like a piece

i had a loose bolt on my a arm that made the sound your describing, and i only heard it with the windows down. maybe your ball joints? could be a lot of things. try having somebody stand on your door sill and jump up and down to rock the truck while you stick your head as close to the wheel well as possible so u can try an isolate the source

Could you try to explain where the loose a-arm bolt was exactly?
