What leveling kit did you use and why?

I'm looking at running 285/75/R18 Maxxis Bighorns on my 2004 F150 Lariat 4wd. I'm wondering what kit you used, why, and would you use it again?

I installed the Bilstein 5100 leveling shocks. Better idea than a block. Better ride. I run that size tire as well. Love them!

I have the autospring myself. Works fine and is holding up, but rusted almost immediately here in Indiana. After two winters they are a big masses of rusting iron sitting in my wheelwell. I'm very disappointed in the finish quality.

On those Autospring lifts...they should zinc coat them or use an epoxy paint.

I got mine in the powder coat finish, I figured that would help (not that I need it in SC). What finish are you running Damon?

+1.

My stock shocks were worn out, so it didn't make much sense to use the spacer and buy new OEM shocks when I could get the better performing bilsteins and kill two birds with one stone.

I have a set of 2" Auto Springs coupled with Rancho 9000xl shocks. I am running Toyo Open Country MTs, 34/11.50 R17s without and rubbing. I would do it again because the ride is great, the CV angle is mild, and I am less than 1/2" from being completely level front to back...

Bilstein shocks because my stock shocks were gone. It made sense to get a leveling kit and new shocks all in one price !

I was never given a finish option, I was just sent a pair.

I went with the remove the rear riser option.

There is now extra wear on any parts and it cost me 45 mins in time.

I am within .5 in of level.

Nothing at all wrong with doing this, but it will NOT allow you to go to larger tires as the post originally mentions. Just an FYI

2" autospring, powder-coated - no complaints

Price was right, and it seemed like a pretty simple DIY project (it was)
