Fx4?????

Okay so im new to the ford thing. I had a chevy and sold it for something a little easyer on the eyes.(rust all over the place) So I bought a supercab fx4 and was wondering what exactley is the diffrence between it and a xlt 4x4? I figured it had something to do with the suspension but dont know

I believe its just the trim package, i have an fx4 screw and love it

Different shocks, skid plates and trim. Well, that and the FX4 stickers.

And it depends upon the year also. 04 up it is a separate model. from the xlt. Prior years it was a trim package.

+1, Anyone who knows, doesn't bother asking what gears, motor, etc you have because the package dictates that 98% of the time. I know that cool notch was worth it for me.

Honestly though, the PTM bumpers were also a big seller. I HATE chrome and the XLT and Lariats have chrome. I have said it before and will say it again, the FX4 package suits me best. Slightly better for offroad, a semi unique package, PTM bumpers, but not all of the bloated stuff of a loaded truck like sunroof, power rear window, EATC, heated seats. These might be good features for others, but whey were more than I wanted. I found the perfect mix of nice and practical options. You can find semi striped down FX4s and ones built with all the goodies, but usually they are on the upper end IMO.
