Gap guards

How the donthese things go on in the front?!?!???!!!!!!

I have switched them around, flipped them around, called the tech support and he even said the instructions weren't specific at all. The back ones look easy. Looks like you just drill thru the metal under the bed where it looks like two pieces of the metal come together and fold down. But what about the front. There are shapes cut into the gap guard that don't match up on the truck. Anybody have a picture of theirs?

Oh, and Thank you very much for the photos! It looks like I may have to trim my gap guards, but nothing too serious.
