need some info...

im looking to lift my truck to put some bigger tires on it.

im stuck between a rcd 4 inch lift and a 6inch fabtech lift. the 4 inch is only 400 bucks cheaper. what are the pros and cons with a 6inch lift mechanically. also how much of a gas milage change will i see doing a 6inch lift and running 305/70/17 or 33? in my opinion id rather spend the extra 400 and get two more inches plus ive herd great reveiws of the fabtech over the rcd. i just want to know if the 6 inch will wear out things, or do i have to do any other modifications that they dont tell.

if i went with a 4inch lift id most likely run 33s

I beleive the RCD is actually a 5 inch lift. It's a great lift and comes with better shocks (Bilstiens) than the Fabtech kit. Both kits will allow you to fit 35's, which is what most people run. A 305/70-17 is basically a 34x12.50 tire and would look fine, but 33's will look too small in my opinion.

wandell are those 315/75/16 that you have on your truck in your signature? if so those look real nice. ive been looking at tires of the size 305/70/16 and they say on the specs that it measure outs to be a 33inch tire. should i bump up to a 315/75 to fill in my wheel well a little more?

The diameter of the 305's is exactly 34inches, but the 315's are 34.6inches. You could probably pull of 325's which are 35.2 inches in diameter. But to agree with wandell anything smaller than 35's with almost 6inches of lift just isnt going to look right.

i agree, i looked up some pics of 33s and they look goofy, if i went with 315s with the 5inch lift is there going to be any trimming or rubbing?

Good call on the 315s! You might have to trim the front valance a touch if you don't crank your torsion bars a little.

The pic in my sig shows my Screw with a 3 inch body lift and 33 inch tires. I have 35's now and have cranked up the torsion bars.

You should not have any issues with 35x12.50's with a 4, 5 or 6 inch lift kit. My truck with the 3 inch body lift and the torsion bars cranked up is about the height of a 4 inch Rancho lift.
